Gerald has a long history of learning new skills in turn passing them on. His love of nature led him at a young age earn the Eagle Scout rank from the Boy Scouts of America. Later as an adult completed Wood Badge training. As a volunteer fireman achieved several certificates as well as his Instructor I, Firefighter I & II from LSU.
His quest for self sufficiency and his desire to see others develop non-dependant skills, founded on his teaching and coaching abilities and fueled by his fire service and wilderness training led to his authoring the best disaster preparedness manual on the market. Emergency Disaster Preparedness & Survival explains how to prepare for disasters, what to do doing the disaster, and how to survive the disaster until (and if) organized help arrives. Gerald has trained people in leadership, woodcraft and survival skills since 1982. Gerald facilitates retreats and seminars coaching individuals and groups to self-empower by learning outdoor and wilderness survival skills.
Gerald’s qualifications
A third generation biker who has ridden since his teen years, he enjoys long Iron Butt rides, or just riding around our nation exploring new roads and meeting new people. He loves to sail in one of his two sailboats, or to go canoeing in the backwater cypress swamps near his Louisiana home or on white water, near his Arkansas home.
