Gerald lives with his wife Lyn on their remote farm in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.
A highly trained volunteer firefighter and fire service instructor since 1989, he currently volunteers with his local fire department.
He is a wilderness survival and primitive living skills expert, an Eagle scout and an active adult scout leader.
Gerald inherited a passion for the outdoors from his father and grandfather. His love of nature and quest for self sufficiency led to a lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. Having achieved Eagle Scout and having completed Wood Badge training, he has trained young people in leadership, woodcraft and survival skills since 1982. Coaching individuals and groups to self-empower by learning outdoor and wilderness survival skills is but one way he teaches and coaches adolescents, and adults.
Gerald’s love of learning has motivated him to gain his pilot’s license as well as developing many other skills. Among his many interests and skills are Iron Butt Riding, sailing, Bonsai farming, flint knapping, primitive living skills, making wine and beer, metal working, woodworking, blacksmithing and photography.
He is retired from 25 years in the (HVACR) Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration business. Owned and operated Frigeration Service for 18 years, through 2006. Subsequently he has many years developing relationships with a diverse group of people on a personal level.
Today, Gerald uses a synthesis of life experiences, wilderness /survival skills and coaching techniques, to assist others who choose to be self-responsible and empowered. He draws on 18 years experience as a contractor, business owner, service provider and 24 years of adult Boy Scout leader training. Gerald consults and coaches busy individuals, small business and work teams who desire to improve their outlook and self-talk.
